Kadey will be presenting The State of Judicial Review and Appeals at the OBA Conference Centre as part of the 2025 CDL Accident Benefits Fall Classic. Her session will examine the evolving approach to scheduling at the LAT following the Divisional Court’s decision in AIG Insurance Company v. Riddell, 2025 ONSC 1979, and the impact of the Supreme Court’s decision in Yatar v. TD Insurance Meloche Monnex, 2024 SCC 8 on judicial review and appeals of LAT decisions. Drawing on her experience as counsel in Riddell, Kadey will provide attendees with practical insights and up-to-date analysis of some of the year’s most significant judicial review and appeal decisions. This session is presented by Canadian Defence Lawyers and is designed for insurance defence professionals navigating an increasingly complex landscape.

| Music Heals | Jun 11, 2025 | Toronto | The Firm | |
Let's Bring the Band Together One Last Time!
Hosted with love and in support of our friend Kadey Schultz and her family, and for all families fighting to end Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). All proceeds will go to the Biggar Endowment for Muscular Dystrophy at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. 2012 marked the inaugural Music Heals event organized in honour of Kadey’s son Emery, who was diagnosed with DMD. DMD is the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed in childhood. It mostly affects boys and most only live into their twenties. However, research is moving in leaps and bounds. We are that much closer to a cure. Did you know that Emery was part of a drug trial run through Holland Bloorview that was made doable because of Music Heals? Did you know it was successful and the drug has now been approved by the FDA? Did you know that Emery just turned 18, and is living his best life with the help of all of you? It’s true. All of this has been made possible by amazing donors and supporters like YOU. Together, we will rock the night away with United Soul Nations. Even though the kids have grown up, we are beyond thrilled to have Lily and the J’s return to belt out a few crowd pleasers to this exceptional audience. We are also thrilled to have The Remakes join us this year! Please warm up your vocal chords to sing along all ‘eve! And back by popular demand, there will be a silent auction with great prizes. Thank you for choosing to join us again for the grand finale of Music Heals! We look forward to seeing you June 11th at the new and accessible TD Music Hall – Allied Music Centre as part of Massey Hall! Tickets: Your $100 admission includes a drink ticket and light appetizers. Interest in the event is incredible and space is limited. Please only purchase a ticket if you plan on attending the event. If you would like to support, but cannot attend in person, please consider making a monetary donation instead which will be applicable for a full tax receipt. Click here to donate. You can also show your support by bidding on a silent auction item.
