Call for Applications for Articling Student Position 2026-2027
Schultz Law Group LLP is seeking a motivated and interesting articling student to support our dynamic insurance litigation practice. We are a litigation firm focused on insurance disputes, located in downtown Toronto (although our amazing technology and paperless practice allows team members the option of working from home!).
We opened our doors in 2015 with the goal of doing things a little differently - we are thought leaders, strategists, innovators and most of all, great hard-working people. We are looking for similar traits in an articling student to join us!
Our practice includes coverage, accident benefits, bodily injury, priority disputes, loss transfer, property, anti-fraud, occupier’s liability, worker’s comp, corporate training and more.
As an articling student, you will be actively involved in all areas of the firm’s work. You can expect to:
•Be involved and learn with the associates and partners, daily;
•Prepare pleadings, affidavits, discovery plans, and motion records;
•Support a file through the arbitration or trial process, including requesting productions, managing files, preparing summaries, and liaising with clients, witnesses and opposing counsel;
•Assist with drafting opinions and reporting letters to clients;
•Attend mediations, Examinations Under Oath, and Examinations for Discovery
•Assist with written submissions;
•Conduct legal research; and
•Attend hearings to support lead counsel.
We are looking for enthusiastic, articulate, and bright candidates who know how to work hard and have fun. Candidates should also be exceptionally organized, dedicated and genuinely interested in litigation. Please forward:
•a cover letter;
•resume;
•law school transcript;
•writing sample; and
•any letter(s) of reference
to cmacdonald@schultzlawgroup.ca. Applications are due by September 12, 2025. Interviews will be completed via videoconference during the last two weeks of September and the first week of October.
